The Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra includes a set of Galaxy AI[1] tools that work well for studying — practical shortcuts for things students do regularly, like taking notes, recording lectures, reviewing long documents, and keeping up with deadlines.

Most of them are built directly into apps you already use, like Samsung Notes and Voice Recorder, so there is no separate setup required.

Here is a quick overview of features that can help in your studies:

  • Transcript Assist[2]: Records and transcribes lectures, with speaker labels and automatic summarisation.
  • Note Assist[3]: Summarises, formats, and translates notes in Samsung Notes, including handwritten S Pen notes.
  • Browsing Assist[4]: Summarises long articles and research pages in Samsung Internet.
  • PDF translation: Translates imported PDFs directly inside Samsung Notes.
  • Writing Assist[5]: Adjusts tone, corrects grammar, and translates text across messaging and writing apps.
  • Now Brief[6]: Surfaces your schedule, deadlines, and reminders every morning.

How can Transcript Assist help with lectures and classes?

Transcript Assist is a Galaxy AI feature built into the Voice Recorder app. It records audio and converts it into a full written transcript, distinguishing between different speakers. For students, this means you can record a lecture and have a readable, searchable transcript ready as soon as it finishes.

Once the transcript is generated, you can tap Summarise to get a condensed version of the key points without reading the whole thing. You can also translate the transcript into another language directly from the same screen, which is useful if you are studying in a language that is not your first. The transcript can be added to Samsung Notes for long-term reference.

The transcription itself is processed on the device, which means the audio does not need to be uploaded to a cloud server. Note that summarization and translation require a network connection.

How does Note Assist help with studying in Samsung Notes?

Note Assist is a Galaxy AI feature built into the Samsung Notes app. It works on any note with at least 200 characters and can automatically format messy notes into a clean structure with headings and bullet points, summarise a long note down to its key points, correct spelling, and translate the entire note into another language.

For Galaxy S26 Ultra users, Note Assist also works with handwritten S Pen notes. It can clean up handwriting and convert it to text, and then apply the same summarise and format tools to the result. This makes it practical for students who prefer to write by hand in lectures but want typed, organised notes afterward.

Can Galaxy AI help with online research?

Browsing Assist is built into the Samsung Internet browser. When you open a long article or web page, tapping the Galaxy AI icon gives you the option to generate a summary of the page. This is useful when researching a topic and working through multiple sources. Instead of reading each article in full, you can get the key points quickly and then go deeper on the ones that are most relevant.

Browsing Assist also supports full page translation, so you can read articles written in other languages without leaving the browser. Both the summary and translation appear inline, keeping the experience in one place.

Can the Galaxy S26 Ultra translate research papers and documents?

Yes. Samsung Notes supports PDF translation directly within the app. You can import a PDF — a research paper, a course reading, or any document — and use Note Assist to translate the content into your preferred language. The translated text appears alongside the original, so you can compare them if needed.

This removes a common friction point for students working with academic papers in a second language, or those studying abroad who receive course materials in an unfamiliar language. The feature works within Samsung Notes and does not require a separate translation app.

How does Writing Assist help with written assignments and communication?

Writing Assist is accessible from the Samsung Keyboard across messaging and writing apps. It can adjust the tone of a message by making it more professional or more casual depending on the context, correct spelling and grammar, and translate messages in real time between languages.

For students, the most practical uses are grammar correction when writing in a second language, and tone adjustment when communicating with professors or academic contacts. The Composer tool can also draft a message from scratch based on a format and tone you select, which is useful for writing emails or formal requests.

Writing Assist works within the Samsung keyboard, so it is available in most apps where you type, including email clients, messaging apps, and note-taking tools.

How can Now Brief help students stay organised?

Now Brief is a Galaxy AI daily summary feature that appears on the Galaxy S26 Ultra each morning. It pulls together your schedule, upcoming calendar events, reminders, and other relevant information from across your apps into a single overview.

For students managing multiple deadlines, exam dates, and class schedules, Now Brief provides a quick way to see what is coming up without opening multiple apps.

It also picks up information from messages and apps that you may not have explicitly saved to your calendar, such as a class time mentioned in a message, and surfaces it in the morning summary.
