Here's how to turn off the Galaxy Note 10 using one of four methods

Today, we'll dig deeper into this topic and detail every one of the four methods you can use to turn off the Galaxy Note 10. For some readers, this information will not be new, but others might learn a new trick or two. The four methods are: using the Quick Settings menu; using Bixby; using the side/power key after changing some settings; and using two physical buttons.

Turn off the Galaxy Note 10 from Quick Settings

1. Swipe the notification bar down to reveal the Quick settings menu
2. Tap the Power icon
3. Tap Power off in the power menu

Turn off the Galaxy Note 10 using Bixby

By default, the side key is bound to Bixby, so pressing and holding the button will summon the assistant.

1. Press and hold the side key to summon Bixby
2. With the button pressed, issue a voice command along the lines of Turn off my phone, then release the key
3. Bixby will reply and ask you to confirm
4. Press and hold the side key again, confirm by saying Yes and release the key. Alternatively, you can tap the Power off option in Bixby, shown at the bottom of the screen

Turn off the Galaxy Note 10 via the traditional method

If the methods above are not to your liking, you can still use the side/power key to turn off the Galaxy Note 10 in a more traditional manner, but you'll have to enable this functionality first.

1. Access the Quick Settings menu and tap the Power icon as explained above
2. From the power menu, tap the Side key settings option at the bottom
3. You'll notice that the Press and hold option is set to Wake Bixby. Change this option to Power off menu
4. You can now press and hold the side/power key to summon the power menu and tap the Power off on-screen button

Note that the first three steps above are required only once until you enable the Power off menu option. Once enabled, you won't have to go through these steps to power off your phone; you'll just have to follow the fourth and final step.

Turn off the Galaxy Note 10 using the side keys while keeping Bixby

Last but not least, if you want to power off your Galaxy Note 10 using physical buttons but you don't want to replace the aforementioned Wake Bixby functionality linked to the side key, you can use a combination of buttons instead.

1. Press and hold the volume down and side buttons at the same time. Indeed, this combination of keys is also used for taking screenshots, so make sure you hold the buttons instead of releasing them as you would for screenshots
2. After holding the volume down and side buttons pressed for a couple of seconds, the power menu will appear
3. Tap the Power off button to confirm
