Hisense unveils ULED and ULED X Mini LED TVs at CES 2024

Hisense has announced ULED and ULED X lineups of Mini LED TVs for this year at CES 2024. The new ULED series has four models — U6N, U7N, U8N, and 100 U76N — whereas, the new ULED X lineup has two models: 98UX and 110UX. Let’s take a look.

Hisense ULED lineup for 2024

The Hisense U6N, U7N, and U8N are successors to the U6K, U7K, and U8K respectively, which the company unveiled last year at CES 2023. According to the brand, the three new models are available in screen sizes ranging from 55 inches to 85 inches. The 100 U76N, as the name suggests, has a 100-inch screen size, and it is a successor to the 100-inch U8K model from last year. All TVs feature LCD panels with the Mini LED and Quantum Dot technologies and presumably 4K resolution.

Hisense claims that the new ULED lineup offers a peak brightness of up to 3,000 nits. We are assuming that the company is referring to the top-end model here, which is the U8N. In that case, the new TV is offering 50% higher brightness compared to last year’s model, the U8K, which has 1,500 nits peak brightness.

All models in the lineup have a 144Hz native refresh rate, auto low-latency mode (ALLM), Nvidia G-Sync Compatible, AMD Freesync Premium Pro, Dolby Gaming, Dolby Vision, and IMAX Enhanced. There’s also Wi-Fi 6E and ATSC 3.0 onboard. Just like last year’s models, the new TVs feature the Google TV operating system. While the U6N has the Hi-View Engine chipset, the U7N and U8N models have the Hi-View Engine Pro SoC. The latter has AI-powered features to offer improved picture quality.

Hisense ULED X lineup for 2024

Coming to the 98UX and 110UX, these TVs have 98-inch and 110-inch screen sizes. Both TVs have LCD panels with the Mini LED and Quantum Dot technologies and a 144Hz refresh rate. However, there’s no information on the resolution. Considering that the 85-inch model in the ULED X lineup has a 4K resolution, we are assuming these TVs offer the same resolution as well. Plus, Hisense hasn’t mentioned 8K anywhere in the press release. So, that’s another indication that the two models have a 4K resolution.

The 98UX has 10,000 local dimming zones and 5,000 nits brightness. Whereas, the 110 UX has 40,000 local dimming zones and 10,000 nits brightness. Those are mind-boggling numbers. Hisense says that both TVs cover 95% of the BT.2020 color palette. The company also points out that the rivals to the two models cover only 80% of the color gamut. The 98UX and 110UX have the company’s flagship chipset, the Hi-View Engine X. Plus, they come with support for Dolby Atmos, and feature 4.2.2 channel audio.

Pricing and availability

Hisense hasn’t announced the prices of any model in the ULED and ULED X lineups for 2024. However, the company has shared availability details. According to the brand, 2024 ULED and ULED X lineups will be available later this year, whereas, the 100 U76N will be available by the end of this month. Hisense is showcasing all the new TVs at CES 2024.
