Samsung unveiled the Galaxy Watch 5 series at the Galaxy Unpacked 2022 event earlier this month. The first set of buyers are now receiving their Galaxy Watch 5 and Watch 5 Pro, and Google has some important advice for users who are having trouble setting up Google Assistant on their new smartwatch.

Galaxy Watch 5's default voice assistant is the Google Assistant

If you wish to set up Google Assistant on your Wear OS device, it requires you to activate the Assistant on your phone. You can also enable the “Hey, Google” hotword and turn on personal results. Now, Google has warned customers regarding some unspecified issues while setting up Google Assistant on their Galaxy Watch 5 series.

The company notes that if the process fails, then users should wait for about 15 minutes after the watch setup is complete before trying again. While this may sound like a pretty no-voice solution, it has worked wonders for Galaxy Watch 5 owners.

You have to set up Google Assistant on your Galaxy Watch 5 because it isn't the default voice assistant. It is the infamous Bixby assistant, so if you face any issues while setting up Google Assistant on the Galaxy Watch 5, follow Google's advice and check if it helps. If not, then you might have to probably wait for a bug-fixing update.
