Here comes a new challenger! Samsung meets Street Fighter 6

Samsung found a new way to challenge the memory market by partnering with Capcom for a marketing campaign starring Samsung SSDs and Capcom's iconic fighting game, Street Fighter 6.

The Korean tech giant has launched a new promotional video featuring Street Fighter 6 footage and some of its SSD solutions aimed at PC and console users. The taglines read “Simple upgrade, perfect K.O.” and “Upgrade today for perfect K.O.s.”

Street Fighter 6 is the latest installment in the fighting game series by Capcom. It was released in June 2023 to very positive reviews.

The new video ad brings a few Street Fighter 6 characters, players, and Samsung SSDs into the spotlight, including the Portable SSD T9 and the SSD 990 PRO with heatsink.

Which SSD should you buy for Street Fighter?

Interestingly, this promotional campaign coincides with a series of new discounts Samsung launched on its memory solutions late last week. Through this promotional campaign, customers can save tens or hundreds of dollars on Samsung's storage solutions.

As to which SSDs you should buy if you plan on storing Street Fighter 6 or other current-gen games, PlayStation 5 users have only one option, and that is the SSD 990 PRO with heatsink.

On the other hand, PC users can get away with storing the game on lower-performance SSDs, and even portable USB SSDs such as the SSD T9. But whichever platform you use, you can't go wrong with a Samsung SSD. When it comes to memory solutions, Samsung Electronics is the world champion and has the most market share.

This isn't the first time Samsung partners with a game developer to promote the 990 PRO SSD as the go-to storage solution for PlayStation 5 users. A couple of months ago, Samsung and the 990 PRO SSD became the official partners for Final Fantasy VII Rebirth on the PS5.

In any case, if you are looking to buy a new SSD for your PC or console, now is one of the best times to do it, as you will find many storage solutions available for lower prices. Hit the buy button below for more details.

The Galaxy experience can be messy for first-time users

Some say it's always better to have more options, but it's never as clear-cut as it sounds. This design philosophy doesn't always work, and more importantly, it isn't a magical shortcut that can patch everything up and always lead to a better user experience. On the contrary, if not handled properly, I believe the “more […]

A few years ago, Samsung went on a crusade to abolish the confusopoly it inadvertently created by offering too many choices in the low and mid-range Galaxy phone market segments.
