Of all the Modes that are available on my Galaxy devices, Sleep Mode is by far the one I use the most. It's ON every night. And if you aren't using this mode already, you should, especially if you recently started wearing your first Galaxy Watch in bed every night.
Sleep Mode is an automation tool that controls key settings on your Galaxy devices according to your sleep schedule. This mode will ready your Galaxy phone and smartwatch for bedtime in no time.
No more distractions, no more blue light, and no more waking up in the middle of the night due to your smartwatch display activating when it shouldn't. Sleep Mode prevents it.
It's not magic or AI; just a good “old-fashioned” IFTTT (If This Then That) system that works reliably every time. It's the type of feature that you can set once and forget — until you buy your first smartwatch.
The initial setup process for Sleep Mode varies depending on which device types you own. If you don't have a Galaxy Watch upon setting up Sleep Mode, you won't see any smartwatch-related settings.
This is precisely why first-time Galaxy Watch users should revisit Sleep Mode even if they've set it up in the past. They should update the mode to include Watch-related settings.
Even then, the default settings could be improved. Here are the Sleep Mode settings we recommend for Galaxy phone and Galaxy Watch users.

You can set up and enable Sleep Mode on your phone via Settings > Modes and Routines.
You can explore additional settings for Sleep Mode and even set different phone wallpapers and watchfaces specifically for this mode.
