After a long wait, Google has finally launched the Find My Device network, which allows people to locate their Android device on a map and also ring it even when it is not connected to the internet via Wi-Fi or mobile data.
Giving you the ability to find Android devices even when they are offline isn’t the only thing it is good for. The Find My Device network can also be used for and integrated into location trackers. Chipolo and Pebblebee have already launched the Find My Device network-based location trackers, and Google says Eufy, Jio, Motorola, and other brands will also launch location trackers that make use of the Find My Device network soon.
Google is rolling out the Find My Device network to Android devices starting with Canada and the United States, and the company should make it available in other regions around the globe in the next couple of weeks/months.
I’m a computer science engineer living in Hyderabad, India, who has a keen interest in automobiles and consumer electronics. My journalism career kicked off in 2017 with MySmartPrice where I wrote news, features, buying guides, and explanatory articles about technology among other things, and reviewed many products, including smartphones, tablets, laptops, PC components, smartwatches, audio devices, wearables, and smart home products. Since then, I have worked for 91Mobiles, Apple, and Onsitego, before finally landing on SamMobile.
