At MWC 2025, Google is showcasing two new features for the Gemini app for Android, live video and screen sharing. The company will roll out these features to Google One AI Premium subscribers later this month.
Since Google and Samsung are offering the paid subscription of the AI assistant to the Galaxy S25 users for free for six months, they will be able to enjoy it without paying anything. Let’s take a look at the two features.
Google showcased Gemini’s live video for the first time at the Google I/O 2024 event. This feature can use your device’s camera to see what you are seeing, analyze the content in real time, and answer your queries about it.
For example, you can point your Galaxy S25 towards a tree, ask Gemini about the tree, and it will provide you with an answer. At Google I/O 2024, Google said that the feature was coming later in 2024 but is rolling it out now.
Gemini’s screen sharing works in a similar way to live video. With this feature, you can share your phone’s screen with the AI assistant and it will analyse the content in it in real time, and answer your questions about it.
For example, when you are browsing a trouser on a shopping website on your Galaxy S25, you can share the screen with Gemini, and ask it for the colours of shirts that will go with the trouser, and the AI assistant will answer.
While these features will be available to Google One AI Premium subscribers, we hope that the company makes it available to free users down the line. If you aren’t a Galaxy S25 user, you can get the subscription at $19.99/month.
