The Samsung W25 was launched in China yesterday and went on sale the same day. The company's website now says the phone has been sold out, but this is likely because Samsung made very few units of the W25 and is selling them in batches.
The next batch of the W25 will go on sale on November 15, 2024.
It is good to see that enough people have bought the phone, especially since several foldable phones from Chinese brands have better specifications in terms of thickness, weight, and cameras.
The Samsung W25 has a 200MP camera, though, which is the highest resolution camera on any foldable phone.
The W25 also features an IP48 rating for resistance against dirt and water. This is unique to Samsung's new foldable phones, including the Galaxy Z Flip 6, Galaxy Z Fold 6, and the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition. No other foldable phones on the market have the same (or better) IP rating.
The W25 is priced at CNY 15,999 (around $2,234), which is a lot more than the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition, which costs KRW 2,789,600 (around $2,036) in South Korea.
However, for that price, consumers get a more exquisite design with a golden frame and accents. The phone also comes with a bundled 25W charger and a leather case in the box.
The 16GB + 1TB version of the W25 is priced at CNY 17,999 (~$2,514) in China. This makes the phone on par with flagship foldable smartphones from Chinese brands.
