The Galaxy Z Fold 8 is extremely similar to the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra. It has similarly bright screens, a similar hinge, the same processor and memory, and the same software.
One of the biggest differences between the two phones is their camera hardware. So, what are the Galaxy Z Fold 8's camera specifications?
It has a dual-camera setup on the rear, featuring a 50MP primary camera with a 1/1.56-inch sensor and a 50MP ultrawide camera with a 1/2.5-inch sensor.
The primary camera has an F1.8 aperture, OIS, dual-pixel autofocus, a pixel size of 1.0μm, and an 85-degree field of view. The ultrawide camera has an F1.9 aperture, quad-pixel autofocus, a pixel size of 0.7μm, and a 120-degree field of view.
There are two 10MP front-facing cameras, one for each screen. Positioned inside punch-hole-shaped display cutouts, these cameras have F2.2 apertures and 1.12μm pixel sizes. The cover display's front-facing camera has an 85-degree field of view, while the one on the inner display has a 100-degree field of view.
The rear-facing cameras can record videos at up to 4K 60fps and 8K 30fps, while the front-facing cameras can record videos at up to 4K 60fps.
Compared to the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 lacks a dedicated telephoto camera, and its primary camera uses a smaller, lower-resolution sensor. The remaining cameras on both phones have the same specifications and capabilities.
The Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra has a 200MP primary camera with a 1/1.4-inch sensor, an F1.7 aperture, OIS, and 0.6μm pixels. It can capture full-resolution 200MP HDR images. Its telephoto camera uses a 10MP sensor with a 1/3.9-inch sensor size, an F2.4 aperture, 1.0μm pixels, OIS, phase-detection autofocus, and 3x optical zoom.
It can also record videos with four Cine LUT options and use the APV codec for better professional video editing capabilities. The phone also offers better images and videos in low-light conditions, thanks to Samsung's improved Nightography algorithms.
