Usually, Samsung’s Galaxy Z Flip series smartphones are more popular, in higher demand, and sell more than the Galaxy Z Fold series phones. This time, we have been observing more people talking about the Galaxy Z Fold 7 than the Galaxy Z Flip 7. That’s because the former brings massive improvements over its predecessor, is the thinnest and lightest phone in the segment, and also offers the best overall hardware and software among rivals. Well, that’s changing the sales-split trend between the two lineups for the first time.
According to FNN News, Samsung received more pre-orders for the Galaxy Z Fold 7 than the Galaxy Z Flip 7 in its home country, South Korea. More specifically, among all the pre-orders for these two devices, 60% were for the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and 40% were for the Galaxy Z Flip 7. It was the opposite the last year, where the Galaxy Z Flip 6 accounted for 60% pre-orders and the Galaxy Z Fold 6 accounted for the 40% pre-orders. In 2023, the Galaxy Z Flip 5 received 70% pre-orders and the Z Fold 5 received 30% pre-orders.
Analysts predict that the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and the Galaxy Z Flip 7 pre-orders could break the 1.02 million record set by the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and the Galaxy Z Flip 5 in South Korea. We expect to see a similar trend in the rest of the areas.
Samsung has put a lot of hard work into the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and it is fortunately paying off. The Galaxy Z Fold 7 and the Galaxy Z Flip 7 duo have also broken pre-orders record in India. It will be interesting to see for how long the momentum holds.
