While Samsung has reduced the display crease on its recent Galaxy Z series foldable phones, it hasn't completely eliminated it. A new rumor claims that the crease on the Galaxy Z Fold 7's foldable display is “almost gone, but still, you can feel a little bit in the light.” That would be a welcome improvement.
Besides that, Samsung doesn't seem to have made any improvements to the brightness, as the Galaxy Z Flip 7 and the Galaxy Z Fold 7 are rumored to feature screens with 2,600 nits peak brightness. The company seems to have improved the loudspeaker quality on the Galaxy Z Fold 7.
It is rumored that both phones will have 12GB RAM as standard. The Galaxy Z Flip 7 could come in 256GB and 512GB variants, while the Galaxy Z Fold 7 could also have a 1TB model in addition to 256GB and 512GB versions. The Galaxy Z Flip 7 could use the Exynos 2500 chip, while the Galaxy Z Fold 7 could feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite For Galaxy chip.
Both phones reportedly use smoother and more durable hinges. According to the rumors, neither of those phones will come with bigger batteries. However, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 could be upgraded to 45W fast charging. Both phones reportedly have bigger vapor chamber systems for better cooling.
Rumors also claim that Samsung will bring a 200MP primary camera to the Galaxy Z Fold 7 while keeping the same specs as last year for the other cameras. The Galaxy Z Flip 7 will likely reuse its predecessor's 50MP+12MP dual-camera setup. Both upcoming phones will likely run One UI 7.1 out of the box.
Samsung seems to have planned to start the mass production of the Galaxy Z Flip 7 and the Galaxy Z Fold 7 from May 2025. Both phones could be announced in August without any price bump.
The company might also unveil its first dual-folding phone and the Galaxy Z Flip FE during the same event.
