Samsung, almost a month after updating the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and the Galaxy Z Flip 5 with One UI 8.5, has now released a new software update for both phones. It brings the June 2026 security patch, which fixes 45 security issues present in the previous firmware.
As usual, the brand is rolling them out first in its home market, South Korea. The updates for both phones have firmware versions ending with GZF2 (via Galaxy Alerts and Samsung Community). You can get it by going to Settings > Software update > Check for updates.
Samsung launched the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and the Galaxy Z Flip 5 with One UI 5.1.1 (Android 13) and promised to offer them four major OS upgrades. The brand fulfilled that promise when it released One UI 8.5 (Android 16 QPR2).
It means that neither device may get Samsung’s latest Android customisation for Galaxy phones, One UI 9.0 (Android 17). If that’s making you think of upgrading to a new model, you should wait for the Galaxy Z Fold 8 series and Galaxy Z Flip 8.
