On paper, it doesn't look like the Galaxy Z Fold 5 brings any significant improvement over the Galaxy Z Fold 4. However, just like the Galaxy S23 (compared to Galaxy S22), it offers an improved overall experience, thanks to all the smaller improvements across the system. The Galaxy Z Fold 5 can record better 8K and Super Steady videos.

Galaxy Z Fold 5 can record videos at 8K 30fps and QHD 60fps (Super Steady)

The Galaxy Z Fold 5 supports 8K 30fps video recording, just like the Galaxy S23 series. It is an upgrade from the 8K 24fps video recording available on the Galaxy Z Fold 4. Thanks to the 30fps frame rate, videos look fluid and smooth. Even the Super Steady video recording mode offers better video quality thanks to a higher resolution. Like the Galaxy S23, the Galaxy Z Fold 5 can record ultra-stabilized videos in QHD resolution and at 60fps. That's a massive upgrade from the Galaxy Z Fold 4, which is limited to 1080p resolution in Super Steady mode. Videos recorded in the Super Steady mode should appear much sharper and have more details compared to the Galaxy Z Fold 4.

So, if you record a lot of videos, the Galaxy Z Fold 5 is an excellent foldable phone for you. All of these improvements in video recording generally boil down to the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 For Galaxy chip used in Samsung's new foldable phones. It has a more powerful ISP (Image Signal Processor) to process more data than the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1's ISP.

Several reviews have showcased that the Galaxy S23 offers excellent 8K video recording. It also offers ultra-stabilized videos that look closest to the iPhone 14 Pro series. The Galaxy Z Fold 5 should also provide similar levels of quality for 8K and Super Steady videos. Even the Galaxy Z Flip 5 can record Super Steady videos in QHD resolution, but it is limited to 30fps.
