Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5 charge quick but don’t die quick

Foldable phones are all the rage these days and have been catching on surprisingly fast, and Samsung has cemented its position as the leader in the foldable segment in the years since the launch of the first foldable Galaxy phone back in 2019.

The foldable form factor opens up new avenues for productivity, creativity, and entertainment that traditional candybar phones can't match. Samsung knows that, which is why its Galaxy Z Fold and Galaxy Z Flip lineups offer a plethora of unique features while being more compact and pocket-friendly at the same time.

One would assume that taking advantage of all those features would take a toll on battery life, but with the newly announced Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5, Samsung is dispelling that notion.

Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5 can last all day long

The Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5, despite featuring the same battery capacities as their predecessors, can last longer on a single charge. Yes, even the Galaxy Z Flip 5, which has the smallest battery on a Samsung flagship, can get you through an entire day before it needs to be plugged in!

The credit for that goes to the super-efficient-yet-powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip that resides under the hood, in addition to software optimizations made by Samsung for the new phones. The new chip and the software optimizations work so well that the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Z Flip 5 can go longer on a single change than even some phones with larger batteries!

In addition to letting you do more without losing charge too quick, the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5 also have impressively low battery drain at idle, even when you have 5G mobile data enabled. Battery life can be further increased by switching to a lighter performance profile (which uses less power while still maintaining smooth animations and fast app opening times) or by enabling the highly effective power saving mode found on all Samsung smartphones and tablets.

    Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5 charge from 0 to 50% in 30 minutes

Samsung's new foldables don't just last long, they charge quickly, too. Galaxy devices maintain an excellent balance between charging speeds and battery lifespan, and the same applies to the Z Fold 5 and Z Flip 5. When you're in a hurry, you can use Samsung's 25W super fast charger to get up to 50% charge in just 30 minutes. A full charge, meanwhile, takes a little over an hour on the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and around 80 minutes for the Galaxy Z Flip 5.

So, if you're looking to buy either of Samsung's latest foldable phones and were worried about battery life, don't be. The Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5 charge quick, but they don't die quick, even when you're pushing them to their limits!
