Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Flip 5 April security update out in the USA

Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Galaxy Z Fold 5 owners in the USA can look forward to a new update this week. This update follows the One UI 6.1 update that started rolling out late last month and brings security enhancements to Samsung's latest foldables.

The update is available for both carrier-locked and unlocked units

For the Z Fold 5, the new update comes with build numbers F946USQS2CXCI and F946U1UES2CXCI for carrier-locked and unlocked units respectively. Galaxy Z Flip 5 owners can identify it by the build number F731U1UES2CXCI.

Both devices get the April 2024 security patch with the latest update, and that's it. If you're among the users who are seeing reduced battery life on their Fold 5 or Flip 5 on One UI 6.1, you may have to wait for another update to get a fix.

Fold 5 and Flip 5 owners can download the latest security update by opening their phone's Settings app, navigating to Software update, and selecting Download and install. Alternatively, download the latest firmware from our archives and install it on your device using a Windows PC.

The April 2024 security update has been released for the two foldables in some other regions as well, including Europe, and it shouldn't take long for it to reach all users across the globe.
