Samsung has released a new software update for the Galaxy Z Flip 7 units in Europe. It brings the stable version of One UI 8.5 (Android 16 QPR2), marking the beginning of the global rollout of the new software for the phone. The update carries firmware version F766BXXU9BZDP.
Samsung could be rolling out the stable version of One UI 8.5 for the Galaxy Z Flip 7 in other countries as well. In the remaining regions, the brand may release it in the next few days. To check for its availability in your country, go to Settings > Software update > Download and install.
Once you install One UI 8.5 on your Galaxy Z Flip 7, the first thing you will notice is a slightly different user interface. While looks are subjective, most people think that it is cleaner and more sophisticated. It also offers a more customisable Quick Panel, allowing you to personalise it to your needs better than before. Speaking of design, you get a floating bottom bar in most Samsung apps.
Apart from that, you get a ton of new features. The most talked-about one is support for Apple AirDrop, allowing users of Galaxy smartphones to exchange files with iPhones, iPads, and Macs without the need for a third-party app, more easily than ever. Then there is enhanced Bluetooth Auracast support, Bixby with Perplexity integration, improved Call Screening, and Storage Share.
Other upgrades include a built-in time zone converter and weather-based alarm backgrounds, Calculator Nudges, partial screen recording, Samsung Health with enhanced weekly reports and more workout-sharing layouts, and Theft Protection. You can check them out in action in our video below.
