Yesterday, Samsung gave us a look at what’s inside the Galaxy Z Flip 6, which revealed some interesting information about the smartphone. Then JerryRigEverything put the phone through a durability test where it came out with flying colors.
Now, PBKReviews has taken the Galaxy Z Flip 6 apart to show us how easy or difficult it is to repair. The teardown also reveals some new details about the phone. Spoiler alert, the Galaxy Flip 6 scored well here too, better than the Galaxy Z Flip 5.
As you can see in the video above, Samsung has packed components inside the Galaxy Z Flip 6 very neatly, and taking them apart is very easy.
PBKReviews gives the repairability score to a device based on five factors: design, parts availability, screen replacement, battery replacement, and miscellaneous parts replacement. The channel gave the Galaxy Z Flip 6 the same score as the Galaxy Z Flip 5 in all but one factor, which is screen replacement.
According to PBKReviews, replacing the Galaxy Z Flip 6’s screen is easier than the Galaxy Z Flip 5’s. As such, the new model got a 1.5/2 score for screen replacement compared to 1/2 of the older model. With that, the overall repairability score of the Galaxy Z Flip 6 stands at 8/10. The Galaxy Z Flip 5 got 7.5/10.
The teardown also reveals that the capacity of the Galaxy Z Flip 6’s main battery is 1,130mAh and that of the secondary battery is 2,870mAh, making up for a total battery capacity of 4,000mAh. In comparison, the capacity of Galaxy Z Flip 5’s main battery is 2,700mAh and that of the second battery is 1,000mAh.
