In the second half of this year, Samsung is expected to launch its next-generation foldable smartphones, the Galaxy Z Flip 6 and the Galaxy Z Fold 6. Both smartphones are expected to bring battery life, design, and performance improvements. The batteries of both upcoming foldable phones have appeared in a regulatory database.'

Galaxy Z Flip 6 and Z Fold 6 batteries revealed

Samsung's foldable phones have dual-battery setups. The batteries inside the Galaxy Z Flip 6 carrier model numbers EB-BF741ABE and EB-BF741ABY were spotted (via 91Mobiles) in the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) database. The Galaxy Z Fold 6 is powered by a combination of two batteries that carry model numbers EB-BF956ABE and EB-BF956ABY. They, too, were spotted in the BIS certification database. This means Samsung has received regulatory approvals from the Indian standards authority for the launch of phones using these batteries, thereby reducing one regulatory hurdle in India.

What we know about Galaxy Z Flip 6 and Galaxy Z Fold 6 so far?

It was revealed that the Galaxy Z Flip 6 will use bigger batteries than the Galaxy Z Flip 5. The upcoming foldable phone will be powered by a total battery capacity of 4,000mAh (advertised) as opposed to a 3,700mAh power source inside the Galaxy Z Flip 5. That amounts to around 8% higher battery capacity, and combined with a more power-efficient processor, the phone should offer longer battery life. It is rumored that the Galaxy Z Fold 6 will also come with a bigger battery, owing to a wider body, but its battery capacity hasn't been revealed yet.

The Galaxy Z Flip 6 and the Galaxy Z Fold 6 are expected to feature sleeker frames and a less noticeable screen crease. Both smartphones will likely come equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 For Galaxy processor. It is rumored that the Galaxy Z Fold 6 has a screen with a relatively square aspect ratio compared to the Galaxy Z Fold 5, which means it might have a form factor that is similar to foldable phones from other brands (like OnePlus). That will make the cover display wider, bringing it closer to the screen aspect ratio of a conventional bar-style smartphone.

It has already been revealed that the Galaxy Z Flip 6 has a 10MP selfie camera, a 50MP primary rear camera, and a 12MP ultrawide camera. The Galaxy Z Fold 6 has a 50MP primary rear camera, a 12MP ultrawide camera, a 10MP telephoto camera, and a 10MP selfie camera.
