    Galaxy Z Flip 5’s embrace of self-expression is why I #JoinTheFlipSide

Our smartphones have increasingly become tools for self-expression. Samsung understands this and has made it the foundation of its vision for the Galaxy Z Flip 5. The company has developed the Galaxy Z Flip 5 to be the ultimate tool for self-expression.

We love to customize and personalize our devices. Whether that's through cases, stickers, add-ons, embellishments, etc. Samsung has come up with an interesting concept for the Galaxy Z Flip 5 that takes it a step further.

Galaxy Z Flip 5 Flipsuit case enables limitless self-expression

Samsung introduces fresh accessories with every new generation of its smartphones. The Galaxy Z Flip 5 is similarly accompanied by new cases and covers. In addition to the standard leather, silicone, and clear cases, the Galaxy Z Flip 5 gets a brand new Flipsuit Case.

On the surface, it looks like another clear case, but with a very clever application of NFC technology, the Flipsuit Case makes the Galaxy Z Flip 5 the perfect tool for self-expression. This $59.99 case comes with two “interactive cards” that slot in the lower half.

Since the upper half is dominated entirely by the large cover display, using a card already changes the color of the device, but this isn't where the real magic happens. The magic happens on the 3.4-inch cover display, or the Flex Window, which displays matching designs and animations. For example, if you use the blue card, the wallpaper on the cover display changes accordingly and it also gets new animations.

The cards aren't just limited to simple colors. You can get a Spider-Man, Mickey Mouse or even a Squid Game card to further personalize your device. There will be endless options to choose from as Samsung will ostensibly allow third parties to offer their own NFC cards. Customers can use any card they like to personalize their Galaxy Z Flip 5 in any way they wish. So it makes little difference what color you buy the device in. You can keep swapping out the cards and enjoy a fresh look and feel every few months.

As we've already highlighted, this has the potential of being bigger than any of the fashion collabs Samsung has done in the past. Customers have the freedom to rep any brand, musician, video game, movie, etc to use the Galaxy Z Flip 5 as a tool of self-expression. I've been very impressed by Samsung's implementation of this idea and that's one of the reasons why I'll be picking up a Galaxy Z Flip 5.

You can also pre-order the Galaxy Z Flip 5 now and save $50 for a limited time. The device will be released on August 11.
