May 2024 security update reaches Galaxy Z Flip 5G

Samsung started rolling out the May 2024 security patch to the Galaxy Z Flip series with the latest device in the lineup, the Galaxy Z Flip 5. Later, the company made it available to the Galaxy Z Flip 4. The next device in the series to get the update was the Galaxy Z Flip 3. Before rolling out the May 2024 security patch to that phone, Samsung has released the update to the next device in the lineup, the Galaxy Z Flip 5G.

Samsung has released the May 2024 security patch to the carrier-locked variant of the Galaxy Z Flip 5G for the United States, which carries the model number, SM-F707U. The software update that brings the latest security update changes the phone’s firmware version to F707USQS8IXE2.

The March 2024 security update fixes 45 security issues. To get the update, go to Settings » Software update » Download and install. You can also download the new firmware from our database and install it manually. Make sure to back up your data before going ahead with manual installation.

Samsung launched the Galaxy Z Flip 5G with Android 10. As promised, the brand released three new versions of Android to the foldable device, and it is currently running on Android 13. If you want to get new features, such as the Galaxy AI, you’ll have to upgrade to a newer device. In that case, the Galaxy Z Flip 5 will be a perfect upgrade for you. You can also wait for Galaxy Z Flip 6, which will come out on 10 July 2024.
