Samsung's new Galaxy Z Flip 5 Retro is now available in select markets. The company announced this limited edition device a few days ago to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the iconic SGH-E700 flip phone. Samsung said the Galaxy Z Flip 5 Retro would go on sale this week, and now, it did. With a big twist in Germany and the UK! Or maybe a significant typo.

Here's the deal. The Galaxy Z Flip 5 Retro is limited to a handful of markets, including Australia, France, Germany, South Korea, Spain, and the UK. In two of those markets, namely Germany and the UK, the Z Flip 5 Retro is being advertised with 512GB of storage and 12GB of RAM instead of 512GB+8GB.

Does the Galaxy Z Flip 5 Retro actually have 12GB of RAM in Germany and the UK? We highly doubt it, and even though you might be thinking you're paying for 12GB of RAM, this is probably a huge typo on Samsung's part. There is no standard Galaxy Z Flip 5 version with 12GB of RAM, and the Retro edition shouldn't be any different.

Furthermore, the Galaxy Z Flip 5 Retro at the online Samsung stores in Australia, France, South Korea, and Spain, show a 512GB+8GB configuration, which we assume is the correct one.

How much does the Galaxy Z Flip 5 Retro cost?

Samsung's special edition phone costs slightly more than the standard 512GB version. Samsung is charging a little extra for the limited-edition color scheme and all those goodies included in the Retro box, such as the Flipsuit Case with three NFC cards, a collector card with the classic SGH-E700 on it, and some stickers.

The Galaxy Z Flip 5 Retro costs €1,399 in Germany, France, and Spain, £1,199 in the UK, AU$1,949 in Australia, and 1,599,400 Won (€1,129) in Korea.

Story continues after our Galaxy Z Flip 5 review video

Beyond the Retro design treatment, this Galaxy Z Flip 5 is the same as the standard model, which we're featuring in our review video above. The phone has a 6.7-inch Foldable Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with a resolution of 2640 x 1080 and a 120Hz refresh rate, as well as a secondary 3.4-inch Super AMOLED cover screen.

The Galaxy Z Flip 5 sports a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 “for Galaxy” chip, two 12MP primary cameras, a 10MP selfie shooter, and a 3,700mAh battery with 25W charging capabilities. The standard version with 256GB of storage starts at €1,199, but you can often find it cheaper at a discount.
