After surprisingly releasing the stable One UI 8 Watch update for the Galaxy Watch Ultra two days ago in the USA, Samsung has started rolling out the update in more countries and regions. The new software is now available in Asian and European countries, and could release in other markets soon.
Our Galaxy Watch Ultra units in India and Germany have started getting the stable One UI 8 Watch update, which is based on Wear OS 6.0. It comes bearing firmware version L705FXXU1BYFE and has a download size of around 1.93GB. It includes the May 2025 security patch as well. The update is likely being released in other Asian and European countries as we speak.

If you have a Galaxy Watch Ultra, be sure to check for the new update as soon as you can. To do that, open the Galaxy Wearable (or named Wearable) app on your Galaxy phone and navigate to Watch settings » Watch software update and then tap Download and install. Once the update file is downloaded completely, tap the Install now button to start the installation process. The installation will take a few minutes, and the Galaxy Watch Ultra will reboot during the process.
One UI 8 Watch is the first major Wear OS update for the Galaxy Watch Ultra, and it brings a redesigned UI, new health features, new watch faces, and new and improved apps. It has a new vertical list layout and an improved grid layout in the app launcher, smoother animations and transitions, a new charging animation, and multi-widget tiles.
Samsung has improved the design of notifications, which now appear stacked if there are multiple notifications from the same app. Notifications have become smarter than earlier. You can choose whether they appear on the phone and the watch or only on the device you are actively using. You can read the complete changelog here.
