It has been over four months since Samsung released the stable version of the One UI 8 Watch update. However, back then, only the Galaxy Watch Ultra received it. Since then, the update has been released to the Galaxy Watch 7, Galaxy Watch 6, and the Galaxy Watch 5. Now, the update is finally available for the Galaxy Watch FE, but not in all countries.
The Wear OS 6-based One UI 8 Watch update is now available for the Galaxy Watch FE in South Korea. It comes with firmware version R861XXU1CYK6 and includes the October 2025 security patch. It brings a major UI design overhaul and plenty of new and improved features. The update could be released outside of Korea sometime next week.
If you have a Galaxy Watch FE and live in South Korea, you can install the new update by following the steps listed below.
This is the second major One UI Watch update for the Galaxy Watch FE since its launch. It went on sale in mid-2024 with the One UI 5 Watch software onboard and received the One UI 6 Watch update late last year.
Since the Galaxy Watch FE is basically a rebranded Galaxy Watch 4, Samsung will hopefully release the One UI 8 Watch update for the Galaxy Watch 4, as promised, in the coming weeks. It will be the last major One UI Watch update for Samsung's first Wear OS-based smartwatch.
