Samsung has released the fourth One UI 6 Watch beta update to the Galaxy Watch 5 series. The new update brings the Global AoD feature to the Galaxy Watches in the lineup. This feature debuted with the Galaxy Watch 7 and the Galaxy Watch Ultra and is now coming to older smartwatches.

Galaxy Watch 5 gets fourth One UI 6 Watch beta update

The fourth beta version of the One UI 6 Watch update has been released to the Galaxy Watch 5 and the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro in South Korea. It comes with firmware version ending ZXH4 and has a download size of around 400MB.

According to the official changelog, the update brings a new feature: Global AoD. This is an advanced version of the Always-on Display (AoD) mode that continues showing whatever the screen was displaying earlier, even in the AoD mode. The clock is overlaid on top of it, so you don't need to activate the screen by touching it first and then continue using the smartwatch.

The changelog associated with the new update also brings improved system stabilization, optimized performance, and better battery efficiency. Samsung claims the latest update also improves the app launch speed and fixes cellular network-related issues.

Samsung has released five beta versions of the One UI 6 Watch update and four beta versions to the Galaxy Watch 4 series, Galaxy Watch 5 series, and Galaxy Watch 6 series. Reports claim that it could be the last beta release of the One UI 6 Watch before Samsung starts rolling out the stable One UI 6 Watch update.

The Galaxy Watch 7 and the Galaxy Watch Ultra were the first smartwatches in the world to run Wear OS 5. One UI 6 Watch is based on Wear OS, and that update could soon be released to the Galaxy Watch 4, Galaxy Watch 5, and Galaxy Watch 6 series.
