Another Galaxy tablet has joined the One UI 8 party as we approach the end of October: the update has started rolling out to the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite. It is available in select Asian countries including Vietnam, Malaysia, Thailand, and the Philippines and should go live in more regions soon.
It needs to be pointed out that the 2024 version of the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite is the one receiving the update. The older models aren't eligible for One UI 8. In fact, they weren't eligible for the One UI 7 update either: the original model ended its life on Android 13/One UI 5 while the 2022 model didn't receive OS updates past Android 14/One UI 6.
If you own the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite (2024) and live in the aforementioned countries, you should be able to download One UI 8 from the tablet's Settings > Software update menu. The update may not appear immediately, so you might need to check a few times. If you’re not in a hurry, simply wait for your tablet to notify you automatically, then tap the notification to download and install the update.
