Samsung has rolled out the latest security maintenance release for quite a few of its devices recently. The Galaxy Note 8 has got it and so have several mid-range and premium mid-range devices. The Galaxy S10 series got it late last week.
Samsung is now rolling out firmware version G950FXXS5DSF1 for the Galaxy S8. It has been released in Greece, Germany, Italy, Spain, Luxembourg, Bulgaria, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Switzerland and Nordic countries so far. The firmware can also be downloaded right away from our database.
The June 2019 security patch had been detailed at the beginning of the month. Samsung confirmed that it features fixes for eight critical Android OS vulnerabilities in addition to more than a dozen high-risk ones. 11 vulnerabilities that were found in Samsung's own software have been patched as well.
Galaxy S8 owners in other markets should expect to start receiving the June 2019 security patch in the near future. It won't be long now before this update is also released for the Galaxy S8+.
