It was recently reported that the Galaxy S27 Ultra could feature just three rear-facing cameras. Compared to the Galaxy S26 Ultra, the upcoming phone may lack the dedicated telephoto camera with a 3x optical zoom lens. However, removing that camera could make room for improvements in other areas.
According to a South Korean tipster, the Galaxy S27 Ultra will feature a redesigned rear-facing camera layout. Removing the 3x telephoto camera from the mix could free up internal space for other hardware upgrades, such as a significantly larger battery, which consumers have been demanding for a long time, and a lighter overall design.
The tipster reiterated that Samsung plans to launch a new model called the Galaxy S27 Pro next year. The device is reportedly expected to feature a display measuring around 6.4 inches diagonally and a camera setup similar to the Galaxy S27 Ultra, including larger camera sensors. However, it is said to lack S Pen support, which will remain exclusive to the Ultra model.
Apparently, there will not be any significant display upgrades in the Galaxy S27 series compared to the Galaxy S26 lineup because of cost-related concerns, and only software related features will be new.
