TL;DR

  • Samsung says the Galaxy S26 Ultra’s red-tinted screen issue is caused by software, not hardware.
  • Affected owners can get free calibration at Samsung service centers, even if the warranty has expired.
  • Samsung is also preparing a software update to fix the issue without a service visit.

A few days ago, it was reported that some Galaxy S26 Ultra units had started experiencing a red screen issue. On affected devices, a rectangular area in the center of the display shows a reddish tint. Samsung has now issued an official clarification.

An official notice was posted earlier today in the Samsung Members app in South Korea. According to the notice, the reddish tint appearing in the center of some Galaxy S26 Ultra displays is related to software and can be fixed through a calibration. Owners of affected devices can visit any official Samsung service center for the calibration, regardless of their phone's warranty status. The company is also offering same-day service for this issue.

Samsung is also preparing a software update for the Galaxy S26 Ultra to fix the red tint issue. Information about the update's release timeline will be announced soon.
