TL;DR

  • Samsung has started rolling out the October 2026 security update for the Galaxy S26, S26+, and S26 Ultra after One UI 9.0 launched.
  • The patch fixes 62 security issues and appears to have first arrived in Canada and the US.
  • More countries should get the update in the coming days, and Samsung has not said when One UI 9.5 will launch.

Samsung has released the first update for the Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26+, and Galaxy S26 Ultra after rolling out the stable version of One UI 9.0 (Android 17). It brings the October 2026 security patch, which fixes a total of 62 security issues.

The brand seems to have released the updates first in Canada and the US. The one for the factory-unlocked variant of the Ultra model for the US is 531.24MB in size and carries firmware version S948U1UES4BZIG (via Kailash).

Samsung should release the October 2026 security update for the Galaxy S26 series in more countries over the next few days. You can check its availability and get it by going to Settings > Software update > Check for updates.

It is worth pointing out that while One UI 9.0 is still new on the Galaxy S26 series, people have already gotten their hands on One UI 9.5 for the lineup. Unfortunately, there’s no information about when Samsung will release it.
