TL;DR

  • FCC documents suggest the Galaxy S26 FE will use a Samsung Exynos modem for cellular connectivity and a Qualcomm FastConnect chip for Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.
  • The phone is expected to feature an Exynos 2500 chip, 8GB of RAM, up to 512GB storage, and a camera setup with a 50MP main, 12MP ultrawide, and 8MP 3x telephoto lens.
  • Other expected specs include a 4,900mAh battery, 45W wired charging, 15W wireless charging, One UI 9.0, and seven major Android upgrades.

Samsung could unveil the Galaxy S26 FE next month, and the device is expected to exclusively use the company's in-house Exynos chipset. However, the phone's Federal Communications Commission (FCC) certification has revealed an interesting mix of Samsung and Qualcomm hardware.

Galaxy S26 FE uses Exynos 5G modem and a Qualcomm Wi-Fi/Bluetooth chip

The Galaxy S26 FE recently received FCC certification, and its RF exposure test documents reveal that the phone uses Samsung System LSI (S.LSI) hardware for WWAN (3G/4G/5G) connectivity and Qualcomm FastConnect hardware for WLAN (Wi-Fi) connectivity.

Mention of S.LSI modem and Qualcomm FastConnect in Galaxy S26 FE's FCC certification documents

S.LSI refers to Samsung Electronics' System LSI division, which designs Exynos processors, cellular modems, and ISOCELL camera sensors. FastConnect, on the other hand, is Qualcomm's suite of technologies used for Bluetooth and Wi-Fi performance.

As a result, it appears that global and US variants of the Galaxy S26 FE will pair an Exynos cellular modem with a Qualcomm chip for Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity. This represents a notable change from previous devices like the Galaxy S25 FE, which exclusively relied on in-house Samsung components across all wireless transmission duties.

What else to expect from the Galaxy S26 FE?

The phone uses the Exynos 2500 processor paired with 8GB of RAM. It is expected to come in 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB versions. It has a 12MP selfie camera, a 50MP primary camera with OIS, a 12MP ultrawide camera, and an 8MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom.

It is powered by a 4,900mAh battery. The phone supports 45W fast wired charging and 15W fast wireless charging. It could run One UI 9.0 out of the box and come with a promise of seven major generations of Android OS upgrades.
