Samsung has been surrounded by controversy over the S Pen and “fake camera rings” since the launch of the Galaxy S25 Ultra. It was also revealed that Samsung may not have removed the S Pen charging coil from the phone. Now, Samsung has started selling replacement S Pen with the same price as earlier.
Galaxy S25 Ultra replacement S Pen still costs $50 despite lacking Bluetooth and Air Actions
Samsung has started selling the official replacement S Pen (EJ-PS938B) for the Galaxy S25 Ultra. It is priced at $50 in the USA and comes in Black, Light Gray, and Light Silver colors. That's the same price as that of the replacement S Pen for the Galaxy S24 Ultra.
We all know that Samsung has removed Bluetooth functionality from the Galaxy S25 Ultra's S Pen. Despite bringing down the costs, the company still charges the same price, which seems unfair.
No Bluetooth connectivity means you can't perform Air Actions, such as controlling the camera and music player and navigating UI without touching the phone's screen.
Samsung said it decided to remove Bluetooth from the S Pen because less than 1% of users were using Bluetooth-dependent features of the stylus. However, even 1% of users mean a lot of people, as over 18 million people bought the Galaxy S24 Ultra last year.
Some say that Samsung may be preparing to remove the S Pen entirely from its phones in the future. However, we can't comment on something that hasn't happened yet. We think Samsung needs to drop the price of the replacement S Pen for the Galaxy S25 Ultra, though.
