According to tipster Ice Universe (@UniverseIce), the Galaxy S25 Ultra will feature the second-generation Corning Gorilla Glass Armor to protect the screen. The second-gen version will reportedly continue to feature anti-reflective properties but have higher durability than the Gorilla Glass Armor panel seen on the Galaxy S24 Ultra.
It isn't clear what degree of durability improvement Gorilla Glass Armor will bring. It is also unclear if the durability improvement is in the shatter resistance, scratch resistance, or both.
While Gorilla Glass Armor on the Galaxy S24 Ultra is game-changing in terms of anti-reflectiveness, some users have started complaining that the oleophobic coating on it has started to wear off. Hopefully, the second-generation Gorilla Glass Armor won't have such issues.
The Galaxy S25 Ultra is expected to feature a 6.9-inch screen, which is slightly bigger than the 6.8-inch screen on the Galaxy S24 Ultra. Samsung reportedly managed to increase the screen size by trimming down the bezels. The screen is said to have rounded corners, which aligns with other Galaxy phones.
Samsung will likely stick to a Dynamic AMOLED 2x screen with QHD+ resolution, a 1Hz-120Hz variable refresh rate, and HDR10+. Some reports claim that the company will use a panel with the older M13 OLED material instead of the newer M14 material used in the iPhone 16 Pro's screen.
