Samsung had promised that it would begin the One UI 8 stable roll out in September, and the company has followed through on its commitment.
On September 15, South Korea becoming the first country to receive the stable One UI 8 update for the Galaxy S25 series. The initial release was only for those who participated in the beta program, though, and that's to be expected.
A wider public release seems to have now started, with the One UI 8 update going out to the Galaxy S25-series phones in many countries where Samsung didn't offer the beta program. To download the update, simply head into your phone's Settings » Software update menu and tap the Download and install button.
There are lots of One UI 8 eligible devices that will receive the update in due course. Flagship phones from 2024 are next in line, though it may take until October for those devices to receive the update in some markets.
One UI 8, based on Android 16, isn't a significant upgrade like its predecessor was, but it does make some important refinements to the software. There are some new features as well, including AI enhancements, that bring more value to the user experience.
