While many users were expecting the stable One UI 8.5 update for the Galaxy S25 series, Samsung has instead released a new software update that only includes the latest security patch. The March 2026 security update is now available for the phones in the lineup.
A new software update for the Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+, and Galaxy S25 Ultra is currently rolling out in South Korea. It carries firmware version S93xNKSS8BZC1 and has a download size of over 500MB. It includes the March 2026 security patch, which fixes 65 vulnerabilities found in the previous software version. You can read more about it here.
Samsung could expand the rollout to other markets over the next few days.
If you are in South Korea and own a Galaxy S25 series device, you can check for the update by navigating to Settings > Software update and tapping Download and install. Once the update is downloaded, tap Install now to begin the installation. Your device will restart during the process, which may take a few minutes.
Samsung has released seven One UI 8.5 beta updates since opening the One UI 8.5 Beta Program, and the stable release appears to be just around the corner. We have also spotted a stable One UI 8.5 build for the Galaxy S25 series on Samsung’s servers.
