Samsung, after unveiling One UI 9.0 (Android 17) and releasing its beta version for the Galaxy S26 lineup, started developing the new software for older Galaxy devices. One of the first phones on which the brand began testing the new Android skin was the Galaxy S25 series (Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+, and Galaxy S25 Ultra). Now, the company has started developing the new software for the Galaxy S25 FE as well.
A new firmware file for the Galaxy S25 FE, carrying version S731BXXU7CZG2, has been spotted on Samsung's server (via Fahad Ali Javed). Based on the tech giant's firmware versioning convention for Galaxy phones, it appears to have a newer Android skin than the one currently running on the device (One UI 8.5), suggesting that it is based on One UI 9.0. This indicates that the brand has started testing the new software for the Galaxy S25 FE.
One UI 9.0 offers a more customisable Quick Panel, new features for Game Booster, Samsung Notes, and Samsung DeX, and enhancements for many accessibility features. You can check them out in our video at the end of the article.
Samsung is expected to debut the stable version of One UI 9.0 with the Galaxy Z Fold 8 series and the Galaxy Z Flip 8 later this month and then start rolling it out to older devices. It should reach the Galaxy S25 FE in the next couple of months.
