On the Galaxy S25 series, all three models feature 12GB of RAM as standard. Previously, the base models almost always featured 8GB RAM no matter which storage variant you bought.
That was also the case for Galaxy Z Flip smartphones before 2024. But last year, Samsung made 12GB of RAM the standard on the Galaxy Z Flip line, and it has now done the same on the Galaxy S lineup.
This is likely because of Samsung's increased focus on providing more and more AI features on flagship devices with every passing year. More RAM helps with faster processing of AI functions, particularly those that are performed on-device.
Storage options, however, aren't changing. The base variant still sports 128GB of storage. You will have to spend extra to get 256GB or 512GB storage, though Samsung may offer pre-order deals such as the option to upgrade storage for zero charge in some markets and could run similar promotions after the phone hits retail shelves.
The Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset powers the Galaxy S25 series globally, with Samsung touting a performance boost of 40%, 37%, and 30% for the NPU, CPU, and GPU respectively (compared to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3). A 40% larger vapor chamber sits inside each model to keep temperatures in check.
