Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra software update - Source: Abhijeet Mishra / SamMobile
Last month, Samsung kicked off the One UI 8.5 (Android 16) beta program for the Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23+, and Galaxy S23 Ultra, allowing users to try out the company’s newest software experience ahead of its public release. After releasing a couple of beta builds and testing it for almost a month, Samsung has now officially started rolling out the stable version of the new software.
As expected, the update is live in South Korea, which is usually the first market to receive Samsung’s major software releases. The update carries the firmware version S91xNKSU7FZDT, with beta users receiving the update before those who are still on One UI 8.0. A rollout in other markets should begin in the next week or so.
Those who want to install the update as soon as it becomes available can manually check for it by going to Settings > Software update > Download and install. That said, a much easier option is to follow our channel on Telegram or WhatsApp, where we’ll let you know the moment Samsung expands the One UI 8.5 rollout for the Galaxy S23 lineup to additional countries.
One UI 8.5 not only includes all the enhancements that come with Android 16 QPR2, but also introduces a refreshed design language across the system. In our opinion, the updated interface feels more polished, modern, and visually appealing. Samsung has also improved customization options, while redesigning many stock apps so they better align with the new look and feel of the software.
