Samsung started developing One UI 8.5 (Android 16 QPR2) for the Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23+, and Galaxy S23 Ultra in October 2025. While the brand hasn’t released it yet, the company may be working on opening its beta program for the three devices.
The first beta build of One UI 8.5 for the Galaxy S23 series has been spotted on Samsung’s server (via Tarun Vats). It carries firmware version S918BXXU9ZZD1. The latest discovery suggests that the brand could open the One UI 8.5 beta program for it soon.
People enrolling their devices in it will be able to experience the new software before the company releases its stable version. Compared to One UI 8.0, One UI 8.5 offers a new user interface and many new features. You can check them out in our video below.
Samsung debuted it by releasing its beta version of the Galaxy S25 last year. The brand showcased its stable version with the Galaxy S26 lineup. The South Korean tech giant is expected to start rolling out its stable version to eligible devices in the next few weeks.
