Samsung Galaxy S21 FE's unlocked US version gets March 2023 security update

Last week, Samsung released the March 2023 security to the Galaxy S21 FE in Europe and the US. However, in the US, the update was only available to the carrier-locked version of the smartphone. Now, Samsung has released the new security update to the unlocked version of the smartphone in the US.

The latest software update for the Galaxy S21 FE's unlocked version comes with firmware version G990U1UEU5EWB7 in the US. It brings the March 2023 security patch that fixes over 50 security flaws found in Galaxy smartphones. The update also brings general bug fixes and device stability improvements.

How to download Galaxy S21 FE March 2023 security update

If you have an unlocked version of the Galaxy S21 FE and if you live in the US, you can now download the new update by navigating to Settings » Software update and tapping Download and install. You can also download the new firmware file from our firmware database and flash it manually using a Windows PC and the Odin tool.

Samsung released the One UI 5.1 update to the Galaxy S21 FE last month. Originally, the smartphone was launched early last year with Android 12 onboard. The Android 13 update was released in late 2022, and it is bound to get three more Android OS updates in the future.
