Samsung has released the first post-One UI 7.0 software update for the Galaxy S21 FE in Europe. The update was first released in some Asian countries last week, and is now available in European countries. It is a security patch and doesn't include any new features or performance improvements.

The newest software update for the Galaxy S21 FE is now available for download in Europe (and Russia). The update comes with firmware version G990BXXSEHYF1 and G990B2XXSDHYF1 for SM-G990B and SM-G990B2, respectively. Both these models numbers are for the Snapdragon 888 variant of the Galaxy S21 FE, but the units with the model number SM-G990B2 were released a few months after SM-G990B variants.
This update brings the June 2025 security patch that fixes dozens of new security vulnerabilities discovered in their previous firmwares. It doesn't bring any new features or performance improvements.
If you have a Galaxy S21 FE and live in Europe, you can download the new update by heading over to Settings » Software update » Download and install. Once the downloading process is finished, tap the Install now button to start the installation process. The phone will restart during the installation, which takes a few minutes.
Samsung launched the Galaxy S21 FE in early 2022 with Android 12 onboard. Later that year, the device received the Android 13 (One UI 5) update. In late 2023, the phone received the Android 14 (One UI 6) update. Last month, it received the Android 15 (One UI 7) update.
Later this year, it will get its last major Android OS update (Android 16 and One UI 8). Samsung has already released the One UI 8 beta update for the Galaxy S25 series. Its stable version could be released before the end of the third quarter of this year.
