Today, the company is rolling out the same security update to the international variant of the Galaxy Note 20 5G (SM-N981B) and the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra 5G (SM-N986B).

The new update for the Galaxy Note 20 5G and the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra 5G comes with firmware version N98xBXXS5GWA8, bringing the January 2023 security patch, which fixes more than fifty security issues. The update is currently rolling out in Brazil. However, as we speak, Samsung might also be pushing it in other regions.

To manually check for the latest update on your Galaxy Note 20 5G, navigate to Settings » Software Update and click on the Download and install button. Alternatively, you can download the latest firmware from our database and flash it manually.

Samsung has also rolled out the January 2023 security patch to the carrier-unlocked variants of the device in the US. Other models of the smartphone might also get this update very soon.
