Samsung Indonesia wants to help aspiring filmmakers on their journey with the launch of Galaxy Movie Studio – an educational platform meant to teach people how to get the best out of their smartphone cameras and improve their filmmaking process from pre-production to post-production.

According to The Jakarta Post, the platform consists of online and offline courses presented by film experts Joko Anwar, Yandy Laurens, and Sammaria Simanjuntak, who showcase the best use cases for the various camera features boasted by the Galaxy S10 and Galaxy Note 10 series.

Galaxy phones can be great tools for beginner filmmakers and content creators

Samsung flagship smartphones are capable enough to create short films, at the very least, and Yandy Laurens revealed that he had used the Galaxy S10 to create short clips before. He claims that modern smartphone cameras can sometimes be used as an alternative to professional solutions, but aspiring filmmakers need to always identify the strengths and weaknesses of the device to get the most out of it, whether it's a smartphone or a professional shooter.

Meanwhile, Joko Anwar revealed that he uses the Galaxy Note 10 S Pen to jot down ideas that sometimes become full-fledged scripts. The Galaxy Note 10 series comes with a plethora of productivity tools empowered by the S Pen, and Samsung Notes is probably the most complete solution out of the bunch. The flagship can be a great ally for anyone who possesses a sense of creativity that can burst out at random times, as it provides a quick way to jot down notes or create rough sketches on the go.

There is more to filmmaking and content creation than writing a solid script and using the proper gear, however. Sammaria Simanjuntak explains more about the editing and post-production process, highlighting how details such as music and color tones can have a tremendous effect on the mood of a film. You might have all the right ingredients, but it's also extremely important to know how to put them all together.

The Galaxy Movie Studio online courses will be available on YouTube Indonesia (above), and the program will remain open throughout December. Readers in Indonesia who might be interested in Galaxy Movie Studio can also check Samsung's Instagram page to stay up to date with further developments.
