Galaxy M62 might never get a sequel, but it’s getting a new firmware update

The Galaxy M62 might be the last of its kind. Samsung hasn't released a Galaxy M63 follow-up, and it doesn't seem to have any plans for an M64 this year. Nevertheless, the company didn't forget the M62 and is now rolling out a new firmware update for the 2021 mid-range phone.

At the moment, the June 2023 update for the Galaxy M62, model number SM-M625F, has limited reach and appears to be available only in Bangladesh and Nepal. But it should land in more markets soon. The update has firmware version M625FXXU4CWF1.

Looking at the strings of letters and numbers above, you might notice that the update should contain more than just a security patch. The letter “U” says as much. However, the official changelog doesn't say anything else aside from stability improvements and better security. The update does include the June 2023 security patch.

Where the update is available, Galaxy M62 users should be able to download it via the Settings app on their phones by accessing the “Software update” menu and tapping “Download and install.” Or they can tap the update notification if it arrives.

Alternatively, SamMobile readers can download official firmware files from our website and install new updates manually through a Windows PC.
