Samsung has released the Android 14 update to one more entry-level device. The Galaxy M13 5G is now getting the Android 14-based One UI 6.0 update in India. The LTE version of the Galaxy M13 hasn't received the new software update yet, but we expect to see it within the next few weeks.

Galaxy M13 5G gets Android 14 (One UI 6.0) update in India

The Android 14-based One UI 6.0 update is now available for the Galaxy M13 5G. The update comes with firmware version M136BXXU5DWK7 and includes the November 2023 security patch. It would have been better if Samsung included the December 2023 security patch instead of the one used now. The security patch fixes dozens of security fixes found in the previous software version.

If you have a Galaxy M13 5G, you can now check for the new update. To do that, open the Settings app on your smartphone, navigate to Software update, and tap Download and install. You can also choose to download the new firmware file from our firmware database and flash it manually if you have a computer running the Windows operating system.

Samsung launched the Galaxy M13 5G last year with Android 12 onboard. The entry-level devices received the Android 13 update late last year, and the Android 14 update now. It will likely get one more Android OS update later this year, and that would be its last major Android OS update. However, it will get security updates for one more year.

Galaxy M13 5G Android 14 (One UI 6.0) features

One UI 6.0 is based on Android 14, and it brings several new features to the Galaxy M13 5G. The phone gets a brand-new Quick Panel layout with better grouping, a new font, new styling and placement options for the lock screen clock widget, and new designs for all the emojis. There is also a new media player widget design with a waveform animation. This widget appears on the lock screen and in the notifications area.

Samsung has also improved all the stock apps. The Gallery app shows quick image editing suggestions. The built-in photo editor now has bigger dials for editing. The inbuilt video editor is now named Samsung Studio, and it now supports drafts. One UI 6.0 removes the term ‘Samsung' from a lot of stock app labels in the app drawer and the home screen. You can watch more One UI 6.0 features in our in-depth video above.

In its early days making Android phones, Samsung was popular for throwing everything but the kitchen sink into its software. It was an approach that gained the company millions of fans, but it wasn't an approach appreciated by everyone.
