Samsung is expected to release its first smart glasses, likely called the Galaxy Glasses, later this year.
The software ground work is already being laid, and an icon of the device has now appeared in both One UI 8.5 and the unreleased One UI 9.
The Galaxy Glasses icon has been spotted in the Bluetooth device list in One UI 8.5. The list is where you see all Bluetooth devices, such as Galaxy Buds and Galaxy Watches, that are connected to the device or have been paired with it in the past. This is obviously where the Galaxy Glasses will be listed if you pair them with your Galaxy device.
We've found this Galaxy Glasses icon in the Companion Device Manager APK and have also seen them in the test One UI 9 build that we've already got running on a Galaxy S26. The icon itself doesn't reveal much about the design of the Galaxy Glasses, they just like an outline any standard pair of glasses.
There isn't a lot of information available about the Galaxy Glasses for now. Earlier reports have suggested that they may be similar in functionality to the Ray-Ban Meta glasses. Samsung is reportedly working on another pair of smart glasses due in 2027 which may have more advanced mixed reality features.
No word as yet on when the Galaxy Glasses may be unveiled this year, one might expect Samsung to talk about them at its second Unpacked event of the year for its new foldable devices in the second half of this year.
