Samsung is pretty great in supporting its devices with long-term software support. That is true for their phones, tablets, TVs, smartwatches, and even wireless earbuds. The Galaxy Buds 2 series is now getting a new firmware update, which should reach most units globally in the next few days.
The Galaxy Buds 2 and the Galaxy Buds 2 Pro are both getting new firmware updates. Some people started getting them earlier this week while others are getting them today. The update for the Galaxy Buds 2 comes with firmware version R177XXUOAYF1 and has a download size of 3.02MB. The new firmware for the Galaxy Buds 2 Pro comes bearing firmware version R510XXU0AYF1 and has a download size of around 6MB.
So, what has improved with these wireless earbuds with the new firmware update? Well, the official changelog just mentions improved stability. None of these earbuds have received new features or performance improvements with the new software update.
The last time the Galaxy Buds 2 and the Galaxy Buds 2 Pro received new features were more than a year ago. The Galaxy Buds 2 received support for Bluetooth Auracast and 360 Audio when paired with high-end Samsung TVs. The Galaxy Buds 2 Pro received support for Buds Auto Switch on Galaxy Book laptops.
