The Galaxy A57, which was announced today, brings several new and improved features. Besides faster performance, its Exynos 1680 processor brings faster wireless connectivity, including a newer version of Bluetooth. The Galaxy A37 doesn't feature this upgrade, as it uses the Exynos 1480 chip from 2024.
The Galaxy A57 features Bluetooth 6.0, becoming the first mid-range smartphone from Samsung to feature this version of Bluetooth. The phone now matches the Galaxy S26+ and the Galaxy S26 Ultra, which also feature Bluetooth 6.0. But what are the advantages of this new version of Bluetooth?
First and foremost, Bluetooth 6.0 introduces a technology called Bluetooth Channel Sounding. It can measure the distance between two Bluetooth devices with millimeter-level accuracy rather than half a meter-level accuracy. That makes Bluetooth 6.0 similar to UWB, allowing a phone to find other Bluetooth devices, like trackers, with extremely good accuracy.
Bluetooth 6.0 also offers up to 3Mbps download speeds and supports LE Audio with LC3+ audio codec for improved audio quality when connected to compatible wireless earbuds or headphone, such as the Galaxy Buds 4 and the Galaxy Buds 4 Pro.
With Isochronous Adaptation Layer (ISOAL) Enhancement, Bluetooth 6.0 split data into smaller packets, improving reliability and reducing latency. So, there are fewer chances of lip-sync issues found in previous versions of Bluetooth. It also improves connection reliability in areas with lots of wireless devices nearby.
So, with Bluetooth 6.0, the Galaxy A57 offers faster data transfer speeds, improved connection reliability, lower latency, and better audio quality.
