Officially, the One UI 8 beta program is available only for the Galaxy S25 series in select markets. However, once the beta program concludes, dozens of Galaxy smartphones and tablets will be eligible to receive the stable One UI 8 build.
The Galaxy A55 is among the devices that will eventually receive One UI 8 after the beta program ends. In fact, Samsung might already be working on it. A Galaxy A55 running Android 16 (via @Alfaturk16) was recently spotted in the online benchmark Geekbench.
The Geekbench entry mentions model number SM-A556E and Android 16. Therefore, the phone runs One UI 8. It doesn't mean it's a stable build, but the benchmark suggests that somewhere, someone (maybe a Samsung engineer) is benchmarking the Galaxy A55 with an early version of One UI 8.
As for benchmark results, they're pretty much what you'd expect and on par with the Galaxy A55 running Android 15 and One UI 7. This Android 16 Galaxy A55 benchmark entry shows 1,150 points in single-core tests and 3,417 in multi-core.
Keep in mind that benchmark scores vary depending on a variety of factors, especially when it comes to unreleased devices or firmware, so it's generally a good idea not to put too much weight on them.
As to when Samsung might release the stable build, the Galaxy A55 probably has a fairly long way to go. Other devices, including flagship phones and the newer Galaxy A56, should get the stable One UI 8 update before the A55. But with some luck, the A55 could receive it by the end of 2025.
The Galaxy M55 and F55 are also eligible for the update, but they will most likely join the A55 at a later date. In any case, we'll keep you posted with important future developments.
