Earlier this week, Samsung opened the One UI 8.5 (Android 16 QPR2) beta program for the Galaxy A55 in its home country, South Korea, where it calls the phone Galaxy Quantum 5. A couple of days ago, we learned that the brand may expand it to India as well. That’s finally happening.
Samsung has released the beta version of One UI 8.5 for the Galaxy A55 in India. The update bringing it is 2,189.20MB in size and carries firmware version A556EXXUEZZD5 (via Tarun Vats). Along with One UI 8.5, it also brings the April 2026 security patch, which fixes many security issues.
To get the beta version of One UI 8.5 on your Galaxy A55, you will need to register your device for it. You can do that by opening the Samsung Members app and finding and tapping on the banner for the beta program for your device. Now, go to Settings > Software update > Download and install to get it.
One UI 8.5 brings a slightly redesigned user interface as well as new features compared to One UI 8.0 (Android 16). Samsung may continue the One UI 8.5 beta program for the Galaxy A55 for a few weeks before releasing the stable version of the new software to all units of the phone globally.
